Call for Proposals: Seven Days of Creation Festival 2017

Pazin, August 13-19, 2017

The associations “Veliki Mali Čovjek” (“Big Little Man”) and “MIG” are calling for participants for the 14th Seven Days of Creation Festival. We are looking for authors interested in participating in the evening programme. The evening programme is going to take place daily from August 13-19 in Pazin. This call is open until July 10, 2017.

The Seven Days of Creation Festival is a project intended for the development of innovative cultural production, promotion and education. It has been running yearly since 2004. The programme of the festival is based on the interaction of different media, continually creating new possibilities, situations and spaces with new authors.

The goal of the festival is to enable a structure for interdisciplinary action and for the creation of an educational international environment, which connects diverse forms and ways of expression: from visual, theatrical, musical and literary expression to science, new media and non-material culture.

During the festival, whole-day workshops are held which end with the final presentation - “UPRAVO STVORENO” (“JUST MADE”), a multimedia event on the final day of the festival.

The evening programme will be taking place each day of the festival, with a different topic every day.

We are inviting authors to apply with their proposals for LECTURES, EXHIBITIONS, CONCERTS, FILMS and PERFORMANCES, including (depending on their requirements) THEATRE PERFORMANCES.

The LECTURES should give the audience a broader insight into a specific topic, through the presentations of books, concepts, authors and organizations. Ideally, the lectures will supplement and inspire the workshops and their participants, as well as attract a specific audience with its subject and approach.

The EXHIBITIONS are not limited in media nor form. They can be group or solo, held in different locations: public town spaces, atrium of the Pazin Castle and the town gallery “DLS” (where the exhibition will last for 7 days). The exhibitions can last from one day to several days, depending on the festival’s programme, the technical requirements of the exhibition itself and the authors’ wishes.

The CONCERTS are going to be held outdoors. Various musical expressions are welcome (vocal and instrumental; from traditional to experimental).

The FILMS are required to have English subtitles, while duration and genre are not specified. The priority will be given to films that explore and question.

Applications for PERFORMANCES are required to include a summary of the proposed performance, including information on duration, necessary material, equipment and space. It would be good to enclose video-recordings of the performance, if such exist.

THEATRE PERFORMANCES will be considered if they conform to budget limitations and do not exceed our technical capacities.

Applications have to contain:

  • Personal information: name and surname, address, telephone number, e-mail address, website

  • A short biography

  • A short description of the author’s work (with Internet links, photographs, audio and other relevant material)

  • Author’s requirements (equipment, space, budget with travel expenses included)

  • If necessary, you can also apply by sending your application to: Udruga Mig, Dračice 29, Banjole, 52100 Pula, Croatia

Applications and questions are to be e-mailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The results will be announced to participants on July 20, 2017.

The Seven Days of Creation Festival will secure the production requirements for the selected authors, in accordance with the authors and within festival's possibilities.

*Priority in the selection process will be given to those applications in compliance with the idea and concept of the Seven Days of Creation Festival.
